Gifted with Love: Wedding Registries for Everyone

Registering for gifts should be fun and easy. Spend some time researching online registries to find the ones that fit your budget idea and your personalities. Guests of different generations tend to shop a little differently, so make it easy for everyone by offering gifting options. Following our guide will help keep the process streamlined and exciting! For a stress-free registry process:

Follow The Registry Rule of Three!

  • 3 Items per guest
  • 3 Tiers of gifts
  • 3 Different registries (at least)

Your registries should have many choices for each guest to select from. A good place to start is by doubling or tripling the guest count for the number of gifts. It may seem excessive, but it is polite to give your guests some freedom of choice and several great options. As an example, 50 guests should have at least 150 items to shop from.

Each place you register will have different items and price points. Break it into three price tiers; one for large gifts, another for a mid-range price point, and then lots and lots of fun add-ons. Many of your guests will want to give a big gift with a couple fun little things, so register for the little stuff too. You don’t just need a new comforter, you need a new can opener, too. Time to get a nice one! This approach works for all types of stores.

Neiman Marcus and Bloomingdale’s are known for the finest in gift giving, but even stores with such stellar reputations have options to fit any budget.

The third “rule of three” is to create at least three registries. At least one should be physically shoppable and have brick-and-mortar locations. Online registries are the most popular way to shop these days and stores like Target have locations in every corner of the country. Both online shoppers and those who like to see the gift in-person are easily accommodated. Crate and Barrel is another classic choice with many locations and an excellent user-friendly online registry process and Williams Sonoma is a definite must-do for foodie couples!

All-online registries are getting super popular too! Amazon is obviously the heavy hitter here but check out Wayfair for an excellent selection of home goods.

Honeyfund is an awesome website if you’ve already got the all the home goods you need and you just want to kick back. Guests can contribute to your honeymoon airfare, hotels, or purchase excursions and meals for the couple. This is a great alternative for anyone going on a big honeymoon. So fun!

Have fun with it! There is a registry for a couples’ each and every interest.  Give your guests lots of choices so they feel like they are getting you a unique and special gift. This will be achieved without difficulty if you keep the rule of three in mind. No matter where you are or what you like, there’s a registry (or three) for you.
